For a very long time, I have been plagued by medical problems that were weight related. Try as I might, the weight goes down, then up again): Almost a year ago, I entered the process to go ahead with the gastric bypass surgery. I was scanned, evaluated, x-rayed, tested from head to toe. Along the way, I had some setbacks due to stress & illness. Now, I am on top of my game. I am pronounced AOK;) The big day is finally approaching. Next Tuesday, June 6, I am scheduled for this very serious surgery.
I am terrified. I am afraid my anxiety will return. There will be no turning back. My life will change dramatically & that isn't just because I will be eating less. In spite of the fact that this surgery is controversial, I would like your support. I would like a few P&PT's thrown my way. Really, I would appreciate it so much. I have never been very strong, nor known for my bravery. Everything about surgery scares me. Honest!
For now, I cannot allow the word *complications* in my vocabulary. This surgery will possibly save my life or @ the very least, improve the life that I already have.
I plan to take a week off from the board. I may be back even sooner. I may take a *lighter* role for a few weeks. I am asking that you guys support Sheri Ann just as you do now. Paula will continue with a quote each day. Lynn/Shasta will post the WWU. Lisa will keep us *goal oriented* in her new thread. Sheri Ann will think up a question of the week. Right, gf??? Whoever gets to the board first on Friday's, feel free to post a Friday 5. OK?

I will be sending P&PTs your way!

Jan, I wish you good luck on your surgery and will also be praying very hard for you. My oldest dd is looking into this surgery also. She is very heavy and has diabetes, high blood pressure and several other problems related to her weight. She has not had her evaluation and exams yet. Just talking to her family Dr about it so far. She realizes its a long process and a dangerous operation but just has not been able to keep any weight off. She also has panic attacks. I will be interested in watching your progress to see what she will go through. She has joined a new fitness club to try to get herself into an exercise routine before she begins the process of getting the surgery.
I see you live in NW Pa. I do also. I wonder if we live very close to each other? I live in Warren, Pa. Again good luck on your surgery. Your really brave to do this and I know you'll do fine. Sharon
