On a more serious note...

For a very long time, I have been plagued by medical problems that were weight related. Try as I might, the weight goes down, then up again): Almost a year ago, I entered the process to go ahead with the gastric bypass surgery. I was scanned, evaluated, x-rayed, tested from head to toe. Along the way, I had some setbacks due to stress & illness. Now, I am on top of my game. I am pronounced AOK;) The big day is finally approaching. Next Tuesday, June 6, I am scheduled for this very serious surgery.

I am terrified. I am afraid my anxiety will return. There will be no turning back. My life will change dramatically & that isn't just because I will be eating less. In spite of the fact that this surgery is controversial, I would like your support. I would like a few P&PT's thrown my way. Really, I would appreciate it so much. I have never been very strong, nor known for my bravery. Everything about surgery scares me. Honest!

For now, I cannot allow the word *complications* in my vocabulary. This surgery will possibly save my life or @ the very least, improve the life that I already have.

I plan to take a week off from the board. I may be back even sooner. I may take a *lighter* role for a few weeks. I am asking that you guys support Sheri Ann just as you do now. Paula will continue with a quote each day. Lynn/Shasta will post the WWU. Lisa will keep us *goal oriented* in her new thread. Sheri Ann will think up a question of the week. Right, gf??? Whoever gets to the board first on Friday's, feel free to post a Friday 5. OK?

I will also keep you in my thoughts.I cried when I read your post.I am so happy for you.Between me and Dave we have 6 friends who have also had the surgery.Though the 1st few days were rough, they have all said they feel great and wonderful and would do it all over again. My neighbor, who had it done one year ago June, said she could not possible feel better,it has improved her health and confidence. So far she has lost 150 lbs.My hats off to you GF.I admire your courage and strength.I hope I can call Sheri Ann,to find out how you are doing.I am positive all will go well, but somehow I need to here from someone, that you are doing okay.

Thank you all very much for your T&P's & love & support. I will be counting on them. Things are moving quickly here, so I won't have much time to say good bye. Just wanted you to know that I love & appreciate all of you.

I'm appointing Sheri Ann, the minister of information;) She will know when I'm back to my room on Tuesday & when I get discharged. My dr. & all his staff carry laptops. I may surprise you all & post a line from the hospital. Take care & GBU all! (((hugs))) jan
