Lexapro day 5

I started Lexapro on Thursday, a very small dosage, 5 mg. I feel as though it might be working a little bit, but my anxiety is still there to some extent. Does anyone else here have experience with Lexapro? I'm wondering how long it should take to kick in, and if me feeling like it's working so quickly is just a fluke.

Hi there-. I just started Lexapro today. I wonder why my dr started me on 10 mgs. I feel like I have chest pains but I know I have had them before. Is 10 mgs too high? He told me to take xanax with it. He also said xanax is the least addictitive drug. Thought that was interesting. How do you feel now?

I also am on Lexapro. I started on 10mg and it helped almost immediatly but within two months they had to raise mine to 20mg. Now after about 8 months they have had to add another medication to help the Lexapro do it's business. I had really no problems with the lexapro and have found it to be a good medication.

I am currently taking Lexapro and it usually takes about two weeks for the drug to be completly effective. Are you cutting your pills in half to get the 5mg dosage? I was just curious b/c my doctor once told me that lexapro comes in increments of 10mg. Maybe you could talk to your doctor and tell him/her that you are feeling a bit better but thatyou could feel better. Maybe he/she could up your dosage. I started out taking 10mg/day for the first two weeks and then my prescription was upped to 20mg/day. I also take xanax as needed. Hope this helps!!

I took lexapro and started to feel better in about 4 days. I stayed on it for a while, then my doctor had to up my dosage to 20mg. About a week ago I went through another terrible anxiety attack that lasted 4 days. My doc just switched me to Paxil because the Lexapro stopped working. I hope you have better luck than I did.

I'm not interested in therapy. I tried it at several differnt times in my life and it was useless each time. I didn't have anything to talk about. The last one I went to told me that I shouldn't be there because I didn't have anything to say. He was right.

I would like to find someone that does either cognitive behavioral therapy or go to the hypnotist I found for my attacks.
