Heather I'm sorry you're having problems. Sometimes I think our partners become angry because they don't really understand and they realize there is nothing they can do to help us.

Tell me about this self soothing kit, it sounds interesting and might be something alot of us could use. My T has never even mentioned it to me but i would really be interested in knowing about it.

The self sooth kit is something my T has learned about recently from some conference she went to or something. She decided i would be the ideal person to try it out on. ;)

The idea is to set up little "kits" to have around to help sooth yourself when you start getting worked up or anxious.

Thanks everyone for your words of comfort and advice. It's so nice to know I'm not alone. :)

I DID finally manage to get out of the house to get my shot checked, and because my dog was looking at me so hopefully, I decided to take her with me. I think that is what saved me today. Without her I would have just got to get my shot checked and came back home and been done with it.

I think you just described my life in your post. I work part time, when at work I work hard and constant but at home, forget it. My husband has to push me to get anything done, usually a project we are both involved in like painting a room or something such as that. I have been agoraphobic twice in 20+yrs and I am one who does not like leaving the house for any reason. I'm content, when I shared this with my Dr. he shivered as if he had chills go up his spine and said he could never do that. I'm just not a shopper or anything like that. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't bother me to go or to drive I just prefer to stay at home. I worry sometimes about the I don't care attitude, I keep things up because I have to. Of course I am not a Dr. but I think you need to make yourself go on and do what you had planned with the nursing home. I think it would give for a good feeling to know you were helping someone else. Good luck, summer will be over before you know it and you will be back working at the school. Debbie
