Hi! I have been on Lexapro since the end of February. It has done wonders for my anxiety and panic attacks. I am discontinuing it to try a weight loss med for about 6-8 weeks. It is not good to mix the two meds... However, my question is has anyone else "winged" themselves off of Lexapro and how did you feel?? I was on 5g a day and I have reduced it to taking 5mg every other day for almost a week now. I am constantly dizzy with a slight headache. The dizziness is awful, I can not even sit still with out the room sort of spinning. Is this normal? Any info is appreciated. Thanks!=)

I am currently on Lexapro. I was on lexapro a while back before this second time of taking it. When I discontinued the use the first time I too felt dizzy. I didn't feel like this until about the end of the first week of not consistently taking the medication. I almost felt spacy and it would come and go. After the second week of not taking it the feeling of spacieness went away. Hope this helps u!!

Yes, the 5mg worked wonders for me. I was happy with taking the 5mg b/c I was hoping it would be easier to come off of them in the future.

I had been on the weight loss pills before (low mg dose too) and they didn't cause me anxiety. I think some of my anxiety is from me being overweight as well. Good luck with your Lexapro. If I have to go back on them after using this diet med, I will. Did you have an increased appetite with the lexapro by chance?

I actually have a diminished appetite, but if the food is sitting on the table, I do tend to eat more than I need to!
