HI everyone,

My doctor just added effexor to my daily routine. I am also on Paxil. I am nervous to take both. I did start effexor, and I noticed some "hot flashes." I was on it years ago, and I think I remember going off of it for the same reason. I know I should take both, but I am so nervous. I already feel like I've put on weight from the paxil, and I don't want to be sweating all the time!

Any advice will help. Ofcourse, I am anxious about this, too! UGGGG.

Love, JD

(my son is driving me CRAZY today!)

Effexor was one of the meds that helped the most with my anxiety/panic. These med combinations are more common & seem to work better for folks & reduce the side effects. I wish you well, Jolie. (((hugs))) jan

That is so good to hear. I just hope it works soon, because I feel like the anxiety is creeping up to uncontrolable levels again. I am starting to worry about not being invited places, and worrying that we have no plans for the holiday. I feel like I am always inviting myself places. Ok Breathe!!

Yes I did. He told me that he does this all the time, and not to worry. He said if I had diabetes or any other sickness, I would take medication. I know that, but it is still a hard "pill" to swallow. (no pun intended!). Thanks!!

Hi there!
So funny, we are all the same yet so different! I am worring that we are going to be invited somewhere and I dont want to leave my house! I stopped answering the phone because I know my neighbor wants us to go to the fireworks. I get very interverted at times and a knock at the door or ringing phone brings on anxiety. Anyway-I had great results with Effexor was on for 6 years 150 mgs. They changed me to Zoloft while preg and when I went back on it, it didnt work. So now Im on Lexapro and its great. I got 6 excellent years out of it though so good luck and let us know how your doing.

Jolie, Effexor is one of the most talked about meds on the boards right now.

I'm trying. I do look forward to taking it everyday, waiting patiently for it to kick in. I can't stand myself anymore. I hope it helps me. Love, JD

Hi there,

I keep a lot of my posts because I re-read them to give me strength.

I was reading yours, and unfortunatly, I also get anxiety when the phone rings. People get so mad that I don't answer my phone, and then on the other hand, I get upset when people don't call. Ugg. I'm a mess, I know. I just thought that was kind of funny!
