Hi all. I just wanted to touch base with you, and give you an update about how I'm doing. My little girl just turned one month on July 3rd, and I'm gradually getting into the swing of things concerning taking care of a newborn. I exchanged my worries about job and pg now to my mother driving me crazy! *LOL* It's workable though. You see, I was afraid to take care of baby alone during the day while my dh is at work, and instead I'm having my mom/dad help me around 12-4ish during the day, which actually is driving me nuts, because my mother is basically taking over. It's a long story, but let's say my dh doesn't like her anymore! Talked with some of my gf's y'day and they mentioned the possibility of me relinquishing control from my parents gradually by weening off the time they spend at the house. I think to tell you the truth, for my own sanity, that wouldn't be such a bad idea. My dh was trying to tell me a week ago not to have my parents over that often, but I didn't take him seriously until I talked w/my gf's, so that's what I'm going to do.
Looking into perhaps right now attend a local hospital's "Care Partner" or "Nursing ASsistant" program. Apparently, depending on the hours/shifts, I can *probably* get a job after their program is done. We'll see. I took the pre-admission test for the Nse Asst./C. Partner programs, and passed..unfortunately, the "Care Partner" program is full this August, and won't be able to attend until January 2007. BTW, I'm thinking about attending these programs, which I think would help w/nursing school. I can go full or part time if I wish.
Still looking at that local accelerated Nursing BSN program. Unfortunately, they lost my transcript from grad school, so I'm keeping track of that.
Met up with some gf's for stamping y'day, and coincidentally made contact with an RN who works with Care Partners. She invited me to come into the hospital one day, and touch base with her concerning that. Wow, I actually think I made a friend!
Still getting adjusted to my little girl, Lily. I think I'm gradually coming to terms about how I won't have a consistent 7-8 hour sleep schedule every night for some time. Still alive and kicking.
Other than that, reading that Dale Carnegie book on "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" is really helping w/my stress. Have not really been able to practice breathing as much as I wanted, but still practicing.
That's my story..hope everyone is having a good week!

hi there, just wanted to say its great to hear that you are doing good.
WOW! You sound so much more relaxed & positive about things, Yaddiya. Grandparents are a different breed of folks. They are the best thing for Lily, in spite of the headaches they may cause you. Honest.
Let us know what program you get in. Updates are always welcome. Good luck! Wishing you continued success. (((hugs))) jan
It sounds like you & Lily are doing great!
