Hi! I quit taking the lexapro that I was prescribed, it was only 5mg. I gradually went off of them starting about 3 1/2 weeks ago. But last night I think I might have already had an anxiety attack. I was laying in bed, felt as if I couldn't breathe, I was almost afraid to go to sleep in fear that I wouldn't wake up. My arms had small tremors and I could hear my heart beat in my head. It was weird. I didn't want to rely on lexapro to make me normal, plus I wanted to start phentermine for weight loss today. After I get my weight loss boost, I thought of going back on the lexapro. But was this an anxiety attack last night?

Bev, I have been taking paxil for 4 weeks now and I'm feeling pretty good. I still have some nervousness and nausea, but it's manageable. I was wondering, have you had any anxiety attacks since you have been on paxil so long? (Besides the time when you had to go without it). I have generalized anxiety disorder & depression so I plan to take the med. as long as it works. Forever if I have too.

We aren't able to diagnose what your symptoms might mean. It's always good to keep in touch with your dr. when discontinuing or starting new meds. I hope you get to feeling better. Good luck! (((hugs))) jan

Hi Kassie, As Jan said, we cannot diagnose, only a doctor can do that.

Thank you for the reply. It's good to know that it took about 8 weeks to feel the full effects. I do feel pretty good, but not quite 100%. I'm sorry about your current situation and I hope opportunity comes to you quickly. I'll be sending positive thoughts your way!

Yes. Just relax and remember the anxiety attack will not kill you. If you don't freak out over it- it will subside.
