Hi everyone
I posted close to 4 weekd ago regrding a sore throat that I have had on and off and mortified to go to the doctor scared that it would be cancer etc.. To refresh those of you who dont remember, I am 34 and was literally so wrapped up in fear about this that I felt paralized..

Long, story short, I spoke with my shrink and he said its always possible that this could be caused my stress and the anxiety... It puzzled me though because at the time, I didnt really feel stressed. With the support of lots of you I ended up taking a half of Xanax.. I didnt want to because it makes me feel extremly tired and seems to ruin my day.. Anyway, I took it and whether it was a coincedence or not I dont know but the sore thrats would be gone! I did this for 3 -4 days and after that up until 3 days ago,, IT CAME BACk!!!!!!!!!!!! It went away for close to a month.. I couldnt have been happier!!! Now all of the sudden I am freaking out and back in the same boat!! Is it really possible for this to be stress related? I feel like I cant cop anymore.. I just cant bear to see and go to the doctor right now I cant. Someone e mailed me information on having a MD come to my home and I thought that was a great idea even though insurance doesnt pay for that I may down the road do that.. I feel fit to be tied!! I am so depressed now.. We have so much going on right now. My house is under constrution due to putting another room onto the house the kids are home on summer break and they are driving me insane so I am stressed but I just cant believe out of all things a sore throat!! I heard of heart palps, throat tightness or cosing, dizzy eyc but a sore throat?? Please feel free to email me direct as well.. hole9bit@hotmail.com

I remember you well! I can only commiserate with you because physical symptoms are a big part of anxiety. In MOST cases they are totally baseless. You will never have any peace or reassurance until you see a professional for an accurate diagnosis. Was the xanax enough to help you get to the dr? Maybe a friend could drive you? Perhaps taking the entire xanax on the day of your appointment? FWIW, if you had a serious illness, your sore throat would not come & go. It would be with you all the time & probably get worse. JMHO Good luck & GBU! You are NOT alone. (((hugs))) jan
