I mentioned that I went to see my doctor on thursday morning. He prescirbed Zoloft 50mg. I said that I am prepared the expects of side effects because I had been on Zoloft 8 years ago, and I still remember how it was like. The worst side effect is nausea and sometime it accopmany by stomach cramp. I feel very sleepy. I have to grab something to get up every morning because I feel very dizzy.

My primary doctor told me to go back to check with him in 2 weeks to see if he is ready to increase my dosage to 100mg. I have no idea if I can even get on higher dosage to 100mg in 2 weeks. I already had a hard time on 100mg in the past after I was on 50mg for 4 weeks. Does anyone of you is on a high dosage of anti-depressant? Did your doctor tell you that you got to be in high dosage of anti-drpressant in order to treak panic disorder or anxiety? He told me that in order to treat panic disorder or anxiety, the dosage has to be higher than the one used to treat depression. He told me that I have a severe panic disorder. Also, he told me that I have some degree of anxiety (GAD). I know I have panic attacks at least twices in less than one week. It lasted over 15 minutes. He told me to drink a glass of water after the attack. Also, he told me to stop drinking alcohol even though I don't get drunk so easily.

I think this doctor is very good that he was taking this so seriously. He even keeps monitoring on me so closely on the medication.

I will keep updating.

I much prefer this dr. He seems to know what he's talking about! I have always required higher end doses of antidepressants for my panic disorder. I have been told by psychiatrists that my serotonin level is very low. I am not sure how they know that, but have done fine on the meds. Like Sheri Ann suggested, if you're afraid of going to 100 mg. so quickly, ask for the 75. My psychiatrist has increased my meds every 5 to 7 days to get to the high end dose. I never had any trouble, but everyone is so individual. I am glad to hear that you're getting some help. Good luck! (((hugs))) jan
