I know I'm being stupid, but I guess I need to hear it from someone else. Here's the story:
I'm taking tomorrow off work (yay) and will be spending the day in my hometown, which is about an hour away from where I live now. I plan to drive up there tonight, spend the night at my parents' house (they're out of town, but they know I'll be going to their house) and spend the day there, coming back to my house tomorrow night. We have a really reliable mechanic there that my family uses, and my car has been acting up somewhat (plus, it needs an oil change). I had planned to take my car there early tomorrow morning so they could look at it and have it checked out by the end of the day so I could drive home.
Here's what's bugging me. Usually, my dad goes with me. I know, I know. I'm a grown woman who takes her daddy with her to the car mechanic. Lame. So even though he and I have discussed the trip to the mechanic and he has made sure I know how to accurately describe the problem with my car to the mechanic, I'm still nervous about going there by myself. What if they can't finish in time? I'll be stuck without a car and no way to get back to my house an hour away? What if it's way more expensive than I expected? What if, what if? Earlier this afternoon, it was making me nervous enough that I thought I'll just postpone the mechanic thing until my parents get back into town and my dad can go with me there. Now, that is just crazy and I know it. My car needs an oil changed, not to mention that my dad suspects the antifreeze needs replacing since the car has been running hot when the air conditioner is running and the check engine light has been on for awhile. I'm sure it's probably not good for me to be driving around when I have the perfect opportunity to have it fixed tomorrow.
Tell me I'm being irrational and everything will be fine. I feel lame enough as it is. I sure don't want to call up my dad on their trip and tell him I'm scared to take the car in by myself.

(((Laura))) It sounds like a minor problem, so I'm sure they will be able to fix it tomorrow.
