update on my car

Well, I did have to take my car in for repairs because yesterday it was having trouble starting. I thought it might be the battery, but of course it couldn't be that simple right? So I dropped the car off this morning, they gave me a ride home, and they called me a little while ago to say that the starter is worn out and I need a new one. And there's some other stuff going on too, but the long and short of it is that so far my tab is $300 and they're not even finished yet. They have to run some more tests and stuff because they're not sure why the engine is running hot if I have my air conditioner on (naturally, it's nothing obvious like needing more antifreeze). It's just frustrating is all, but what can I do? It's not like these repairs are optional.

I am so proud of you, Laura. Don't forget to ask for that old starter & make sure you're paying for a new one because I have heard that rebuilt ones can be used. When you get more into the price of what car repairs can be, you will know if $300 is fair. I am so good @ my age, that I can touch the hood & tell you if it will be over $500. LOL (((hugs))) jan

Laura, I am so happy that you made the trip & went to the garage on your own!
