Having another attack

I'm having another anxiety attack right now. Racing thoughs, nausea, can't sit still, shaking and rapid heart beat. I just took an ativan and am waiting for it to kick in. This time there was a big trigger. My sister's ex-husband was just sentenced 20 years in prison for raping a minor. My sister had to testify today and his parents have her son and refuse to give him back. Sorry to give so much detail, but I'm freaking out right now. I sure hope the paxil increase helps calm this down soon so I can stop having such bad attacks. I can remember the years when I never had to go through this. It Sucks!

I hope the med kicked in & you're feeling better. Most of us have family difficulties that can set us off. I am sorry for your sis & your nephew. That's a shame that they're innocents caught in the middle. Let us know how you feel. Good luck! (((hugs))) jan

The ativan did kick in last night and I felt alot better. I woke up this morning shaking, anxious, threw up again and had diarrhea. It's getting old waking up this way every day. That is why my doc upped my dosage. Today is day three of the higher dose, so I'm trying to be patient for paxil to really help knock the edge off. One good thing about today, its mine & my hubby's 12 anniversary. I think we are going out tonight to celebrate (as long as I feel better). How long should I give this drug to decide if its working for me? It's been 6 weeks now. I do feel alot better than before I took it, but I think I'm having too much anxiety still.

Mornings can be a hard time when suffering with anxiety. Others have discussed it on the board. I have my anxiety @ night & have a hard time getting settled down. IMO, you should see a difference with the med increase in 3 to 4 weeks. Hang in there. It will get better. Hope you're feeling well enough to celebrate tonight. (((hugs))) jan

oh candace, that sucks that you had another attack:(, but at least you were able to calm down....i wake up every morning anxious too...every morning when i wake up i listen to a relaxation tape and then pray (i only have about 10 min for this since i have a little one, but i he lays in his crib and talks to himself happily while i do this)...i do this to try and ease up the morning anxiety...i don't know if its helping but it certianly can't hurt...i never asked you, do you work? if not what do you do all day? i ask this cause i am a new stay at home mom (just recently quit my job due to my anxiety), and i find that when i have nothing to do i am more anxious then when i have things to do...and i'm looking for suggestions too:) hope your feeling better

Yes, I do work. It helps me to keep busy, so I don't have much anxiety at work. When I stayed home the month of June, my anxiety was terrible. I took my ativan this morning and feel asleep. I slept almost 3 hours and woke up again anxious. Can you take another ativan before it is time? What will it do?
