Well the doctor told me to stop taking Lexapro a few weeks back because it wasn't helping my anxiety, but was giving me horribly itchy hives all over my body. So now I'm trying Celexa, and got allergy pills to help with the hives. We'll see if it works. I'm getting pretty frustrated trying to find the answer for me. Starting to think my social anxiety will never get better.

cheryl, hang in there...the meds can take a while (30 days) to begin to help.

We have had others that switched from the lexapro to the celexa with success. I am confident that you will find the right med & dose.

As we have talked before, you need to find some interests & get out there to meet ppl. It will take some doing on your part. I know after beginning to drive when

Oh, I didn't mention! I went out with 5 girls from online on Friday and we had a great time! I stayed 3 hours which is very good for me because I usually try to make any excuse to leave early. Then on Saturday, my fiance's band played at a club and I spent the night talking to a few girls and might make plans with 2 of them sometime soon. So it was a very good weekend for me socially! Don't think it has to do with the Celexa though, because I just started it on Saturday.
So, it was definitely a confidence booster to know that I can talk to people. I was in a bookstore last week and saw some book called "Feel the Fear and do it anyway". I didn't buy it, but I had some time to kill waiting for my fiance to get done work and I read some things that really made sense. I WON'T die just because I feel nervous talking to someone! And if I actually make myself do it, the anxiety isn't as bad. Usually it's the anticaption rather than the actual doing it, that is bad for me. Does that make sense?

Well I hope I can keep up this pace!

WTG! Yes it does make sense. Anticipatory anxiety is the worst. I have more fear of an actual panic attack, than actual panic attacks;) That book sounds like a winner. Maybe someone else has read it. Good luck, Cheryl! Wishing you more success. (((hugs))) jan
