New Here - Other Board Transfer

Hello everyone. I was on Bipolar Board as I had been previously dx'ed BP years ago but just recently dx'd with GAD specifically Novelty Impulse Control (lack of it, more like it) something or other. I was pretty upset at time of hearing it so am foggy on the info. Can anyone relate to this and or have it and provide info? I was seeing tdoc who let me go last night as she said I didn't need therapy, that I handle my problems well. So I called pdoc this morning and he said (they are married) that isn't what she said, that I wasn't participating in it (therapy) and so therefore - bye! I feel very confused and betrayed. What I heard and what she said are apparently two different things.
Anyhow, I am on Xanax for now (for starters, pdoc said) and also Prozac (from my GYN, go figure).
Any help from a fellow Novelty sufferer would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks, Kelli

Hi, Kelli! I have seen you on our board before;) It's nice to have you here.

We can certainly relate to issues of anxiety. Novelty impulse control is not generally

Thank you for responding. It's very confusing because I've only seen pdoc once thus far. When I spoke to him, I was upset so blanked out on half of what he said. I am just going to lie low until I see him again in 1.5 weeks. I am 39 yo and originally, at 17 yo had the BP dx. My dh is supportive of me but clueless as to what's going on. I don't want to involve him at this point with everything up in the air and without a clear cut dx to educate him - even I am not educated about it at this point!
Take care, Kelli

Thank you for responding. I see the pdoc again in 1.5 weeks and so I am just going to back burner everything till then - a little overwhelming!
Take care, Kelli
