I feel a little confused. I have GAD and cope well with counseling. Back to School is everywhere (I'm stay at home Mom) I feel upset. My oldest is going to be in school all day and I do not want him to go. I do not want my Kindergartner to go either. It is not like I have fear of something happening or worry about irrational things its just that I want to spend more time with them. Is this NORMAL. Every parent I seem to talk with seems to be relieved that their child is FINNALY going to school. I on the other hand dread it!!! I love being with all of them and the thought of not spending much time with them durring the day makes me feel sad. Any suggestions??? I have thought about homeschooling but that is a lot of work. THANK YOU

I always enjoyed the kids going back to school. @ least the peace & quiet of the first day. But, I was a working mom, so it was on with the show;) In your situation, maybe finding volunteer work would help fill your lonely hours. I know the schools are always asking for more parent involvement, so here's your big chance. Have you considered being a room mother? What about a lunch room monitor? If you wanted to work, kitchen staff are usually part-time.

Don't be upset. We all have trouble dealing with change. Sending kids off to school for the first time is a stressor. Schools are safe. Kids need their education & teachers are prepared to give that education. You always have holidays & breaks to look forward to having the kids back home. Good luck! (((hugs))) jan
