Be honest: do you use relaxation techniques? (breathing, journaling, etc.)

  • Yes, on a regular basis
  • Yes, occasionally
  • No, not comfortable with the idea
  • No, but I'm open to the possibility

I do sometimes, but usually it doesn't really work for me. My anxiety is so great that I have high levels of cortisol. Not only is it effecting my stomach, but my mind as well. I've always been a nervous type, even when I was a little girl. My grandmother remembers me always being that way, even when I was two! I have disorders of the nervous system. I'm paid SSI for my disorders (well, those and the one physical disorder I have: scoliosis).

I use the belly breathing, meditation, positive affirmations & relaxation exercises with success. For along time, I was skeptical. But I found that practice makes perfect. When they become second nature, they will decrease the intensity of anxiety/panic. (((hugs))) jan
