I am not sure if I belong here but read some posts and I seem to be in the same situation.
All my life I have been very anxious and worry alot. The last two weeks or so, under my arm started hurting and I freaked out. I googled 24 hrs a day, convinced myself I had breast cancer, could not function, went to the ER 3 times for panic attacks. I finally got in to see my regular dr and she felt I had postpartum depression(had a baby four months ago) and put me on Zoloft. I don't think it is PPD, I think it is just anxiety. My grandmother has anxiety really bad also.
I do not even know how to relax. I am constantly worrying and feeling anxious and I feel like its taking over my life.

Tina, it will all get better.

Thanks. I am glad I found this board because I feel like I am losing my mind at this point.

hey,
we have something in common, i started meds when my son
was born, i've always had anxiety but then it turned into
full panic disorder, all the hormones sent it thru the
roof.
he is 6 now, when he was 14 months he was dx'd
with cerebral palsy, he uses a walker, is fully verbal
and has alot of potential and is also dead weight!!
having panic and a disabled son doesn't mix well!!
all the "what if's" and what will be, did you have anxiety
b/f you had a disabled son?
kris
No not really. My son actually has a terminal illness so it's like death is always on my mind either him dying or now me dying and who will take care of him etc. The anxiety really got worse after my second baby that I just had four mths ago.

tina,
so sorry, i thought in a previous post you said he was
disabled, very sorry to hear this!!
what is his diagnosis? i'm assuming it is affecting
his mobility, did your anxiety just start now?
kris
What one thing have you found that works best when you feel anxiety coming on?
Sheri Ann
So far I haven't found anything. This all just came on so suddenly. I've been trying to just talk to myself and tell myself everything is fine and just breathing in and out. Today it was so bad though I had to take a Klonopin the dr gave me and I feel mellow finally. This is just the worst feeling in the world.

How often is the klonopin prescribed for you to take it?
Sheri Ann
She gave me 5 and said to take it sparingly. Last night I took one and I felt really relaxed and mellow. Actually my son takes Klonopin too for his illness so I actually have some if I needed them other than the 5 she gave me, know what I mean. I go for a mammogram next week for the underarm pain and I am so stressed over that. Today I feel calmer though.
I had a question and I guess I can write a new thread on this. I"m wondering when is the best time to take my Zoloft? Morning, night?

Tina, it's not uncommon for people with anxiety & panic attacks to take klonopin 2 or 3 times a day.
