Well, looks like it's Nursing School

I just got a letter the other day from the Dept of Health where I interviewed last Thursday. Looks like they decided almost immediately that I wasn't the one for the job. To a degree, I actually don't mind so much, because I didn't like the idea of using my own car for inspections, or for that matter, inspecting restaurants in run-down areas, or for that matter, traveling in cold weather where I know I'm going to be sneezing my butt off, because I don't like the cold.
Funny though, this whole time when I was going into the interview, I felt like I was talking myself out of it. Like I said before, I thought I nailed the interview, but looking back, they might have not liked my references from the previous temp positions. They asked for references, and how long they lasted, maybe that tipped them, or the fact that I only lasted 6 mos in my last perm position. I guess I'll never know.
Kind of happy that I have to go to nursing school. Just more work though. I actually am happy that the deicision has already been made for me. So far, I only have three courses to take. One Pathophysiology course this semester, and a Pharmacology and a history course next semester, and then hopefully, acceptance in the Nursing School the following semester. According to the school, I only have three pre-requisites to take before being admitted. I was told I have to make at least a 3.5 to be accepted. Hopefully, they won't put too much weight on my grades 10 years ago compared to the grades I make now.
The Patho course I'm taking this semester..well, my mom (retired RN) almost had a heart attack when I told her that the course is being taught by a lady with a Masters in Funeral Service *LOL*. This is because the class is mixed with Funeral Service Majors and Nursing majors. Still though, I look at it this way, I learned Patho 10 years ago as the second semester of A&P, so this should be fairly easy considering the Funeral Svc book is 1/2 inch thick. Still though, the funeral service teacher says she'll be taking out of the Nursing Patho book, but something tells me this task was put on her at the last minute, because she as yet doesn't have any chapters that we should read out of the Patho book, and classes started last week. I guess we'll see.
Thanks for listening though. Just needed to talk.

Wow!

Thanks. I will. My mother can be pushy sometimes, but she actually knows a lot. The SIL could definitely weigh in too. Thanks for listening!
