Oh, do I understand! I have one of those dh's too-- help others so much, that sometimes he forgets how much we need him! What does your dh do?
I told you in my post to the hurricane thing that my dh may be leaving us this weekend to help his brother, even though we are under flood warnings and he will have to drive right through the remnants of the hurricane to get there.
Grr...
BTW, in response to your post to me below-- you should feel good about how much I like the board--- you are very welcoming! There is a good reason you are cl of the month! :-)

Another thing is, I had suggested he go help with Katrina, volunteer his time since he is a carpenter and very good at what he does.

Do all men have some stupidity about them?? Is it linked to the testosterone???? LOL!
Do you have any close friends or relatives you can hang out with when he leaves you to survive it on your own? I know that is sometimes impractical and hard to come by but it sure helps me when I can get it. Well, you sound like a strong woman! I have faith in you!!!! Hang in there!

Boy, then I really understand your frustration! I figured he was something like a police officer, or firefighter, or EMT or something! Having just had a house built this past year, I can tell you that there are much less severe conditions that we had no one show to work on our house! LOL

Did you do okay through the storm? It should be pretty much past you I think. My dh decided not to go. He gave me some attitude as I made it clear that I thought he should stay home and he thought I was not supporting him wanting to help his brother. But the whole state of VA is under a state of emergency today, and I don't think that this is important enough for him to leave me and the 3 kids and drive 4 hrs across the state into the eye of the tropical storm to help his brother paint cabinets.

Anyway, hope you are through it all now.
