Hello :)

Like I said before I have been dealing with PA's for a while now. And what I don't understand and also what I HATE is how these attacks just come out of no where. I was laying in bed this morning and all of a sudden it started. I didn't do a thing I was barely awake. I think this is also my problem with thinking it something other than a PA attack cuz it just comes from out of the blue.

Also I wanted to ask...Who is on Lexapro and how much to you take. I started on 10mg and now up to 20mg and I feel like my PA are coming more often than not and was wondering if I should go see my Dr. and have him increase it.

Thanks for any info :)

Hi, I do know what you mean about the PAs coming from nowhere. I have had all of my bad ones driving, but there was one I had when I was driving on the interstate that I went from feeling totally fine to full blown PA without warning. My only thought was that I was getting worked up at a subconscious level and then the PA broke through to a conscious level.
I am on Lexapro. I started at 10mg about 4-5 weeks ago, then after 3 weeks, I increased to 15mg. (cutting tablets) At 10mg, I definitely felt a change, but I did still feel the panic and anxiety at a lower level. So far the 15mg seems to be working great, but I haven't been driving on the interstate or over bridges since upping my dose, so that is my real test.
The nice thing for me about the 15mg is that my dr gave me a prescription for 20mg and told me to cut into quarters and take 3/4. It is a bit of a pain, but works fine with a pill cutter and then the meds last longer than a month, so my $35 copay goes longer. She was going to have me get the 10mg and cut in halves, but then it would have been used up in less than a month, so I spoke up and she said to do it this way. It is good, because I am still seeing my therapist every 3-4 weeks, and that is a $35 copay too.

My pa's come out of out of the blue too sometimes. The belling breathing really does help and reminding yourself it is only temporary and it will pass. When I started paxil, my pa's were worse and more frequent for about 2-3 weeks. They finally started getting better and now I haven't had one in a month. I've been on it for 3 months now. Hang in there!

I was on lexapro myself and found that it didnt help with my attacks. I have been on ativan 0.5 mg and it has helped me with my attacks and makes me feel calm in about 30 min.
