hi ladies...

well, we went to buy a minivan today...yes, a minivan...who knew i would ever buy a mini van because our cool and sporty jeep wrangle just will not fit a family of 5 (me, dh, 8year old step daughter, toddler tyler and the baby on the way)...sooooo...we went to buy a mini van...

after we were done looking at all the cars and picked out the one we wanted (we got a 2004 honda oddessy), we were sitting in the office filling out all the paper work and suddenly i got a flood of these thoughts, "what if i have a panic attack and have to run out of here, what if i go crazy, what if i get worse, what if i never get better...oh no...here it comes..." and so on and so forth...this seems to be how my panic attacks start...with a "flood" of these thoughts, and then BOOM, i'm anxious and feel the need to flee where i am:(

Sorry you are feeling this way. I don't have any great advice for you. But I sometimes get like that too. And I think that is funny that you bought a minivan today. Me and DH were talking about getting a minivan in 3 years. I finally got him to agree to it. But then that brings out anxiety for me. Are we really done having kids, or do we wait a few more years and have another? Hope you're feeling better. How's your pregnancy going?

(((Heather))) I think this is one of those situations where anxiety would be normal for anyone.

Heather, my pa's usually start with the flood of thoughts too. I try to do things like Sheri Ann suggested to get my mind focused on something specific. If I have to though, I take ativan. I know you cannot do that while pregnant, unfortunately. I'm proud of you though for not running out of there! Back in the day, I would have!!!

It seems as though I only get the panic attacks when I have the time to let my mind wander.

Hi Heather - I get that sometimes as well .. the best thing I can tell you is, if you can, just take a short walk outside, take a deep breath .. or excuse yourself and find a water fountain ... anything just to get away for a minute. Sorry that is all the advice I have! *hugz*
