I've been posting a lot lately, sorry guys. :( But, right now, I feel really foolish. A few minutes ago I noticed my heart rate. And it felt like it was beating harder than normal and faster. So I told my husband, I think I made a mistake having those cookies paired with the mikes hard lemonade. I told him my heart was beating faster, so he checked my pulse and he said, "well no, it's pretty slow, right at normal" And I trust him, he wouldn't lie to me about that, he knows well how I am. I just feels like its fast and hard to me. So naturally I'm getting anxious. This feels completely real to me, does anyone else get like this?
PS, we just timed my heart rate, it's at 80 BPM, my heart rate is normally 70-73, so its not much, but it still isn't fun! Maybe i'm just too hyper sensitive to every little thing

I know how much stress an increased heart rate can bring on for us with anxiety.

Yep, I certainly feel that way at times too. I deep breathe through it. And if I have to, I take a Xanax but ususally it will be gone by the time the Xanax would kick in anyway. I don't drink at all anymore because of my meds and I just don't. Half a beer makes me ill.
You are not alone! Hang in there!

hi there...first of all don't appoligize for posting a lot...thats what we're here for, and Lord knows i go through phases where i post several times a day..
as far and the heartbeat thing, i know your heart beat was normal, but i think when we are feeling anxious we are super sensitive to our body sypmtoms, and we can become scared by them....
its a "normal" thing for a person with anxiety...
keep us posted on how you are doing.
WOW! I could've written your post in the past. I was so fixated with my heart rate & always seemed more sensitive to it, than others did. I was constantly taking my pulse. I learned to stop that. Just makes things worse): A pulse of 80 is normal. In fact, our heartrates go up & down many times with activity during the day. If you're running the vacuum, it might get over 100. If you're really running, swimming, playing tennis, etc. it might get to 150. All normal.
ITA with, Sheri Ann that alcohol not only will increase the pulse but makes you more aware of it. Also, many folks report increased heart rate with high sugar foods. Alcohol & cookies is a double whammy when it comes to sugar. As time goes on, you will learn what triggers you & make the necessary changes. I am glad you're feeling better. Good luck & GBU!
