hi ladies,

just wondering if any one else has dreams they are having panic attacks or anxiety in there dreams? like last night i dreamt that i was in a room that i was unfamiliar with and all the lights were out and i it was pitch black, then i started to think that i was having anxiety and i had a panic attack in my dreams...

its just really pathetic that i have panic attacks in my dreams...every area of my life has been affected, even my dream world:(

i also often dream that i'm on the verge of a panic attack, like i'll have a dream where somthing upset me and i'll think, i am soo anxious, what if i have a panic attack...in my dreams!

anyone else?

just curious

Hey Heather - I actually just copied my response to Ashley (porcelianblondie) she posted something similar regarding anxiety and dreams (Disturbing Dreams topic)

I can definitely relate to anxiety-filled dreams. I started having them worse right before the first week Tim (boyfriend) went out of town. I would wake up with a full blown anxiety attack that followed me out of the dream. I don't think there is anything we can do about dreams, unfortunately, if there is, I'd like to know how to stop them!!

This must be scary for you, Heather. I have been awakened with a panic attack from a sound sleep. But, never experienced panic in my sleep/dream. I hope you can reassure yourself that even in your sleep, panic won't hurt you. In light of all the stress you've been having, your body is trying to work through daytime issues, while you sleep. Hope you feel better. (((hugs))) jan

Heather I suffer from sleep panic also!!
I have horrible nightmares which come and go.
My hubby often wakes me up because I am screaming or
crying in my sleep!! It does seem to be related to my level
of anxiety during that day however! It is SAD we have no
escape from these miserable things!!! My only escape seems to
be hypnosis!! I know how exhausting it is to wake up in a
stressed out state---- HUGS!! Judy
