Feeling anxious

I am feeling very anxious today. I have the day off with my husband and son and instead of enjoying it I am nervous. My 4 yr. old son has a loose stool today, but says he is fine and acts like it too, but I am freaking out thinking it is a stomach virus and he will end up throwing up (my biggest phobia). How can I just stop these thoughts and enjoy myself? I have tried deep breathing and self talk but it's not going anywhere.

Thanks,
Jamie

One thing about kids, is that when they don't feel good - they let us know!

I know that it's hard, but you must not focus on the *what ifs.* Try to keep yourself busy, Jamie. If you can, exercise or work on a craft or any sort of activity such as balancing your checkbook. These things use another area of the brain & forces you to refocus. I hope the baby is just fine & you are having a better day. Good luck! Sending PT's your way. (((hugs))) jan

hi jamie....

it takes a lot of time and practice to learn how to work through these scary thoughts, so if you are trying deep breathing and postive dialoge, it might take a while to "really" work...so try and be pacience with yourself....and keep practicing.
