Klonopin?

Hi! I'm Karen, 35, been on 20mg of Paxil for the better part of 5 years now for anxiety with no real problems from it...

A few months ago, I was having Restless Leg Syndrome in bed and insomnia from it (worse than my normal insomnia). It helped, and I was to take it each night, and to take a half dose during the day if I had breakthrough anxiety, which I get a bit of now and then (have only ever had two realy major panic attacks). About the time I started it though, I became depressed; really ADD, bored, tired, etc, so when it ran out 3 days ago I stopped it (I was taking 1-2mg at night about 5 nights a week).

Well ever since this morning I've had that swimmy head feeling you get when you miss Paxil for a couple of days. I usually take it in the afternoon, but I bumped it to this morning, just to make sure, and 6 hours later I still feel swimmy, along with feeling nauseaus and using the bathroom hourly. Do you think stopping Klonopin would do this? Did I maybe just miss a Paxil yesterday accidentally? Or maybe I've just got a bug, who knows.

Apart from the withdrawal symptoms, did anyone else find that Klonopin caused depression?

Welcome, Karen. Nice to see you posting:)

I have taken klonopin off & on for several years. @ the most twice a day, never more than 0.5mg.

Thanks for the reply! I phoned in the refill, and I'll take 1mg each night until I can get in to the doctor. I think I'd like to have a med that's designed specifically for occassional sleep use, and some Xanax for occassional anxiety breakthrough.

You need to call the doctor and have the doctor tell you
