I have no clue if this is from muscle tension or something else but its making me uneasy, and thats never good for someone who is already nervous about her health! But what i'm having is in the back of my head alittle to the right of the center, at the base of the skull, when i move my head to the right i het this popping sound. and its in the same place every time. and now, down that muscle it hurts. Does anyone else experienc this? and what is a good way to get rid of it?

When I get something like that, I try to figure out what could have caused it, such as - did I sleep with the window open next to me? the ceiling fan on?

yeah its kinda freaking me out. the first thing i did was try to figure out a cause. only thing i could think of was i laid down in the bath about 20 min before it began, but i would've figured it'd be gone by now. but now my neck hurts and i have a headache. and im up at 1am bc if i lay down it seems to make it hurt. so..here i am...typing away...trying to fend off all my anxiety..

I have something like this a lot! I actually went to urgent care a few weeks ago because it was so bad, I could hardly even move my head back & forth. They did an x-ray & said it definitely had to be muscle tension. I also had dizziness with it. It was fine after a couple of days, but still pops when I turn my head and feels like there is a weight on the back of my head or something at times. It helps me to take deep breaths & move my head from front to back and then around from one side to the other. I usually do this for a few minutes & it seems to help. Hope it feels better for you...

Muscle tension is very common when we're stressed or anxious. If this doesn't improve, I would see the dr. You shouldn't have to suffer like this. Good luck & let us know how you're feeling. I know it's hard not to think there's something seriously wrong. Any sort of sensation tends to *up* my anxiety. (((hugs))) jan
