Have you had these feelings before? If so, reassure yourself that this is panic & it will not hurt you. If you haven't seen a dr. in awhile, then maybe now is the time for a check up. That will reassure you that all is well. Do you take meds or see a therapist? Changes may be in order if you're more anxious or stressed about something @ this time.

I like to use the belly breathing & meditate everyday to reduce my anxiety & help get me through a panic attack. Please check our *coping tips & tricks* folder below. There's many ways to help calm yourself. Keeping your mind & body busy refocuses our attention from the scary feelings & helps to move on. I wish you lots of luck. We care & want you to feel better. Hi there - I am also 26 but the first time I had a full blown anxiety/panic attack (I was 22 or 23), and didn't know what it was, I felt very similar. I remember my body parts going numb (from hyperventalating I believe), I felt I was having a heart attack and came very close to calling 911 before I talked to a friend who explained that it was an anxiety attack and I would be fine. I was able to breathe (and pace!) my way through it and finally able to sleep. But it was the worst feeling in the world - I'm sure you are fine but for peace of mind, maybe see a doctor. *hugz*

Oh Gosh.. I feel your pain!! I really do.. I would get all kinds of sensations and feel like I was going crazy.. I still till this day have asthma inhalors in the house for when I get shortness of breath mind you that I do not have asthma and its 100% anxiety!! I never believed that so many physical symtoms could be caused by anxiety but I was wrong..

Think of it this way, it helped me a little.. Regarding the chest pain.. You would have already had a heart attack if it was your heart.. It wouldnt go on and on like that.. You'd have pain then shortly after that you would have the heart attack.. Just an example hope I am making sense..

We need to put things in perspective.. Try to keep yourself busy and focus on other things.. I am not good when it comes to just laying down trying to relax it makes me worse actually so I will go and clean or do somehting to occupy me and the symtoms seem to get better when I do not dwell on them as much..

Do you take medication?? There are so many options out there to help.. I started experiencing anxiety and panic at the age of 24 I am 34 now.. Its stinks but I am so much better then I was years ago and some of the things I mentioned in the above helped me out and got me where I am today.

Good Luck

I found that exercising when I feel an attack first coming on helps me.

I too had all of the heart symptoms and always for no apparent reason. I had all of the heart tests done and was sure they were missing something. I was fine and now I believe the Drs.. It is hard to believe that your mind is so powerful that it can create this mess. I was told that just being aware of your heart can cause adrenaline to be released into your bloodstream and that makes your heart palpitate and race and panic sets in and so on. Then after you feel so down and tired! Please see a dr. so you can get some reassurance and help! Even though it is hard to believe there is probably nothing wrong with you and you will be fine. Xanax helped me a lot when I couldn't cope and breathing into a brown paper bag helps with the hyperventilation. You can hyperventilate without even knowing it by just taking a few extra breaths and this can cause you yo havethe tingling sensations.
