paxil- lack of sleep?
| Fri, 09-15-2006 - 8:13pm |
Well, almost one week down with paxil-cr, doing pretty good on it except, I haven't been able to sleep very well! I am still feeling really tense, but less emotional for sure! which is great but I need to sleep, is this normal? I am also a more then a little stressed because I found out that I had an abnormal pap and also had to have a colposcopy, then the dr. told me that I have a mild case of hpv, she said it can be in your system for years and cause problems when fatigued or stress, she said try not to stress about it, HOW??? I would really appreciate some input, feeling a little bewildered by everything right now:(

What time are you taking the paxil at?
Sheri Ann
I took Paxil for a long time (several years) and never slept well while taking it but I didn't take the CR. I would ask the doc about taking it in the morning and see how that works for you. I experienced quite a few side affects with the Paxil but it worked really well for my A&P.
Hugs,
Laura
Sorry about your stress! Keeping you in prayers! Try not to over worry!!!!

Hello,
I took paxil and the CR for almost 4 years and always in the morning.
Yeah, you are new to the medication and it could be adjusting. The only time
that I couldn't sleep well was when I had too much on my mind that I feel
made me very uneasy. I would wake up about 3am and couldn't get back to sleep.
I don't think it had anything to do with the Paxil, I was just too anxious to sleep.
I hope you are sleeping better,
Annie
If you had no trouble sleeping prior to starting the paxil, I'd say call your doc & ask about changing it to the morning.

i also take my paxil in the am for this reason.
sorry about the medical stuff, i have med stuff
and don't know how to stop worrying about it...
walking helps me overall though!

Hi there. I just started taking Zoloft about 10 days ago and I also take it at night and I also haven't been sleeping well. But, it is getting better. I think we need to give it 2 weeks to let our bodies adjust, before we decide if it's the medication. I don't know if Zoloft and Paxil have the same side effects, I'm just assuming they might.
I'm glad you are feeling a little better though.
BTW, I took a Benadryl before bed the other night when I thought I was going to die if I didn't get a good nights sleep, and it worked. I slept well that night. You may want to check with your healthcare provider if they can recommend a sleep aid in the short term until you are adjusted to the meds.
