hi michelle-
my name is heather, i have panic disorder, GAD, and depression...and i'm pregnant! this board has been a HUGE support system to me throught this tough time in my life:) welcome to our community...i think it helps to know that "you" are not alone.
I know what OCD can be like & have always suspected I have a touch of PTSD. In the past I have battled intrusive thoughts, but mostly my OCD focuses on obssessive thinking & counting. Why, oh why couldn't I be a compulsive cleaner??? LOL As you can see in my siggie, my housekeeping abilities are running on the low side;)
I haven't taken AD's for over 4 years & now occasionally take a klonopin. I can work through the anxiety/panic with positive affirmations, belly breathing & daily meditation. I have found that liking myself is ok. When I have a setback, not beating myself up is the best thing I can do for myself. This is a flaw in my chemistry, not my character. Same for you, gf! Be kind to yourself, Michelle. You are unique. That makes you special! HTH
Welcome again to our community. Come back often & make yourself @ home. We care & want you to succeed. (((hugs))) jan
Hi Michelle, welcome :)

Heather~
When I was pregnant I did not have panic attacks, but that was 20 years ago! I did have them before and after pregnancy though. It's amazing what hormones can do to our body. Thanks for welcoming me to the community!
Jan~
Thank you for informing me of this board!! I had to giggle when I read your message. So many people think that ocd means you're a clean fanatic. In some ways I am, but in others, sheesh! Deep belly breathing is a super help for me as well. Thanks for reminding me to be kind to myself ;) I also thank you for reminding me that I am unique.

More than one dx occasionally makes it a challenge to handle. This certainly seems like a great board. It is nice to know everyone is supportive ;)

I am not on any meds due to epilepsy... plus I asked my therapist if we could try counseling without meds:) I'll try to make it to the chats, but usually I am online during the day. Thanks for the welcome! I agree, everyone here seems kind and caring!
