Your thoughts please

I am wondering if you all can tell me what you think. You know my biggest anxiety right now is breast cancer. I had a mammogram which was fine because I was having underarm/breast pain on the left side. I was fine for about two weeks and feeling pretty good. The last two days, I have started stressing about it again and now today my breast really hurts on that side. Do you think me worrying is triggering this breast pain? Now I am ready to call a specialist for another opinion(this will be like the 3rd opinion) cause I was reading about how not all breast cancers show up on a mammogram.

(((Tina))) I hope you can accept the latest findings & move forward. If you truly had breast ca, you would be very ill as the disease progressed. Of course focusing on the illness can cause pain. Our minds & bodies can't be separated. You need to stop reading about these illnesses. They are a trigger for you. I have had to do the same about illnesses & meds. Otherwise, I would be obssessing all day about rare & fatal illnesses.

Find yourself something else to do. It takes 8 minutes of a distracting activity to quiet our inner critic. That tells me that with practice you are 8 minutes away from being free of this breast ca thought. Make a list of affirmations. *I am fine. I am NOT ill. I am free from disease. I am living a healthy life as I can. My mammogram was normal.* You have all the thoughts available in your head to add to your list. Don't allow the thoughts to consume you. Read your list if the negative thinking begins to sneak in. You will be fine. Good luck & GBU! (((hugs))) jan
