I am having a fit..

I have been a SAHM for 5 yrs. I did work part time waitressing but then my anxiety hit and I stopped. I have been doing mortgage closings for a few months but it had gone well. I have the option to say yes or no to a closing.

So, dh and I have a lot of medical bills that seem to just pile up, we also had a flood in our basement last spring and had to take out a loan. We have been talking about me working part time to start to get things paid off..

Today he called me and said that 2 people in the production area of his work left today and that he gave the manager my phone #. So the manager called me and said that he would like me to work and start TOMORROW!!

I was take by surprise but reluctantly agreed. I am going in tomorrow and Friday 9-2. It is good money and dh works in sales so I won't have to deal with him. I am just freaking out and "having" to go somewhere. I am fine going out but the though of having to go to work scares me a lot.

We didn't talk much, I just said that I'd be in tomorrow and Friday. I am going to tell him that I need all school vacations off and all days that the kiddos are off and/or sick and staying home. I am also going to tell him that I will work no more then 3 days a week. MAYBE more if it is really needed.

Dh is a bit upset with me because he thinks that I don't have a good work ethic. I sure do.. it is just geared to my children. They come first no matter what.

If this man doesn't like what I have to say then tough! I would like some extra money but not at the expense of my family.

I am so afraid to go. I have the biggest headache and stomachache... it is awful. I have had such a hard time getting used to my Boys being in school and now this. Everything is changing.

The only thing that I am looking forward to is having my own work area. I am a Christian and I am looking forward to having a sort of meditation/prayer time. I also

It's hard beginning work again & especially on short notice. That's for people WITHOUT anxiety;) I can feel for ya, Heather. I hope you can get the schedule you want but sometimes we have to make concessions if the job market is tight. I'll be sending P&PT's your way tomorrow. Let us know how it goes. Good luck! (((hugs))) jan

Well it all worked out pretty good. The past 2 days I have worked and it wasn't as bad as I thought.

I know a lot of the people there since dh has worked there for 7 years.

I was so scared going there but the time flew by and it wasn't so bad..

I am going in tomorrow morning but from there I am staying on as a casual the rest of the time.

They will call me as needed and I can say no if needed.

I will maybe work 1-2 days a

Heather I'm glad it sounds as if this job is gonna work out for you. I'm also proud of you cause it's hard enough to go back to work but on such short notice is even harder. Take care of those boys they should be your first priority. You ladies are an inspiration since alot of you ladies I started out here on ivillage are making such progress and getting out into the work field.
