So the maintenence guys finally showed up, and he fixed everything...except the fridge. They have to replace it.....awesome...here's the kicker..they can't deliver it until Friday...ouch. And I ended up swallowing my pride and asking my parents for help with money. I only asked for 100; they gave me 300. I'm grateful for them that they want to help, but now I feel like I owe them back. I feel aweful having to ask them for help, I'm on my own with my own family, I shouldn't be needing this kind of help. So when DH gets home we're going to go buy a big cooler some dry ice and buy more meat and shoving it all in there. I managed to lay down and take a nap, only a short one; I'm sure I would've slept more if the maintenence guy hadn't showed up. I'm still really stressed, I'm having tons of pains all over my body. But I'm a lot more calm than I was this morning.

glad to hear that you are doing "better." thats really frustrating not having a fridge for a few days! and sometimes 'we' just need to swallow our pride and ask for help...there's nothing wrong with having to ask for help...i think at times it takes a stronger person to ask for help than not to.

That stinks that you have to go a few days without a fridge, but I know how that goes.

Sending hugs your way! I know that it's alot of extra work using a cooler. I always pretend it's like camping;) A few years ago, here on the east coast we were without power for 3 days. Yikes! Alot of people were able to recoup their food losses on their homeowners insurance. Hang in there. Friday will be here before you know it! I am happy to hear about your supportive & generous family. You have alot more than what some folks have. I don't mean to sound overly optimistic & cheery, but we all have to weather the many storms of life. Things are looking up, gf! jan

I know EXACTLY how you feel about asking for help .. especially from my parents because I know they would do it in a heartbeat (they already do!!) .. and because they already help me out so much, asking for more just kills me, so I rarely do it, even if it stresses me to the max!! I hate that feeling, I live on my own, I should be able to pay my own bills and LIVE ON MY OWN!!! *hugz* We aren't alone!

I am so sorry that your fridge broke. Our freezer once went dead...$500 worth of stuff (wouldn't you know that we had just done our stocking). Thank heavens your parents were able to help!! Yeah, it is tough...and I hate doing that because I think "uh, I am a grownup, who shouldn't be running to parents." I am also a parent, though, and would be ticked if my kids didn't ask for help when I needed them.

Glad you feel better.
