Welcome, Marty! It's so nice to see you;) You are NOT alone. Many of us have learned to live well with anxiety/panic. You can do it, too!

You got alot of suggestions in chat last night. Others will be along to add their thoughts. For now, read the posts & especially the *coping tips & tricks* folder below. There's tons of ways to relax & reduce stress that will help you through the attacks.

I use belly breathing & meditation to relax when I panic. Write a list of positive thoughts to read when you get anxious. Things like, *I will be fine. Panic cannot hurt me. Noone ever died from a panic attack. This will pass quickly.* Also, meds & therapy can be successful until you have learned new ways of coping. It doesn't mean you're crazy when you visit a counselor.

We care about you & want you to feel better. Post anytime with questions or concerns. Good luck & GBU! (((hugs))) jan

Well it seems as though you have already gotten some great advice. I just wanted to add that you are not alone. It is such a difficult thing to coap with but YOU CAN. It just takes some work and finding out that techniques work for you.

Hi Marty! I think you should call your doctor about
the panic attacks. He will be able to offer his suggestions
and maybe some medication to help you relax! Sometimes talking
to a doctor helps on its own!! Just my thoughts! Take care!! Judy

Hi!

I noticed your username was 'crazy4pepsi'. By any chance, do you drink a lot of it? I've found that I'm very sensitive to caffeine and a cup of coffee can trigger anxiety in me.

let me start off by saying they arent as bad as they were it was a big test for me when my husband daughter and i went to the brand new super walmart by our apartment on monday which is like 5 min away and let me tell u what it is the largest walmart in nebraska it was scary i was having the filling of wanting to throw up and having the feeling like i couldnt breathe well. but i was fine i kept repeating u will be fine marty seems like ive said that a hundred times i kept taking deep breathes that helped a little the last 2 nights ive had mild case of panic which didnt last long i think im doing a little better i dont want this thing running my life. its very hard at first because u dont know which way to turn. i notice when i switched to tea from cofee i had fewer attacks and they werent severe when i did have one i do have coffee once in awhile but when i do its only one cup compare to the whole pot that i use to have.
