mom of 3 with heart palps

I am a 25 year old female. Maybe I just have a sensitive heart or something…..Ever since I started having panic attacks back in 2003, I ‘ve become more aware of what my heart does. For awhile back when the panic started, my heart would race up to 150-160 without any exertion. That stopped. Sometimes it’ll hop up a little depending on whether or not I’ve eaten, caffeine etc But what I feel is a skip or thump or weird flutter feeling, almost like it’s having a hard time pumping or there’s something stuck in there for a second. Back in 2003 I had a 30 day holter monitor, numerous EKG’s and an ultrasound of my heart. All came back normal so they say. I had sinus tachycardia and some PVC’s and PAC’s. It comes and goes but I can’t seem to find a pattern in it or link these palpitations to anything. I’ve seen the doc since then many times regarding my heart. Different doctors and different opinions and they all pretty much say the same thing. Don’t drink caffeine, smoke and try not to pay attention to them. “we would only be worried if you passed out or something” Well of course that hasn’t happened. Has anyone had similar experiences and if so what were you diagnosed with or what did your Dr say to you to do about them or why they happen. In my mind somewhere I know they can be normal but it is just very scary when it happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Leah

I have experienced much the same. In fact, laying on my left side @ night makes me more aware of them. Turning to the right helps. I have had testing, too & all is AOK. I quit smoking 19 years ago, drink only 1/2 cup of java a day & try to get plenty of sleep. If I break my rules or am stressed to the max, I have a return of the palps. When that happens, I do refocus my thoughts on another subject. I keep busy physically & mentally. I remind myself that my heart is just fine. That the anxiety won't harm me in anyway. I never take my pulse because that keeps me too focused on my heart.

hi leah,
when i first started having panic attacks i had a similar experience.
hey hun,
Like Heather, I have no great wisdom that will break through your feelings. And as you can see from the post I just made, I get them pretty bad. So I'm right there with you. All I can tell you is that if you've been cleared, then trust your docs. A lot of times palpitations are benign. Just extremely disturbing. Here on the board you will find a lot of coping tips and tricks, and a lot of helpful ladies willing to listen. Lot's of ((((((hugs)))))))
