will I feel better

Hi,

I was on med for anxiety, went off in May on my own, not asking the dr if ok. I went off b/c I was feeling better. 2 weeks ago, something stressful happened and all the anxiety came flooding back. In addition to the stressful situation, my work schedule changed and I'm finding it difficult to adjust. I work in 2 offices, same dept, doing separate things and I can't get it together to prioritize my work. I don't adapt well to change.
Tasks at work which I performed every day seem like I never worked on it before b/c I can't concentrate. It's like I have a block in my brain. Under dr's care, I went back on med on 10/10. Is this anxiety making me feel like I have a mental block?

Thanks!

Hi! Nice to see you;) I am sorry to hear about what has happened. Anxiety can return when we're stressed. Since you have coped well before, you will be able to get back to that place. I hope the meds kick in soon. What are you taking? If it's an antidepressant, it will take 4 to 6 weeks to reach optimal effect. Check out our *coping tips & tricks* folder below. There are ways to help yourself carve out some *me* time & reduce the impact of your stressful life.

As for the concentration problems, this is very common when we're anxious. You are NOT alone (((irishmom))). We have trouble focusing, memory trouble, inability to complete tasks because of the anxiety. Getting plenty of sleep & regular exercise can help you get back on track. Don't be hard on yourself. This will pass as soon as you regain your balance. Drop into chat tom. night if you can. We want you to feel better & know that it's possible. Good luck & GBU! jan

Hi

I can relate what you are going through. I too went off meds. I also stopped BC pills In Aug. A MD told me your hormones get a little crazy after going off the pill so that would cause the anxiety too. But I did not like or dislike being on that pills

Sounds like you are under alot of stress. The coping skills this board offers are great. Make sure your medication is okay for you. There is a lot of trial and error with those meds. I am still finding the right one myself.

I do try to take a multi, and 50mg B's. A little exercise a day goes a long way. Plus I love Tension Tamer tea before bed.

Hope I have helped cause I know in my own way what you are going through. Take care. One day at time.
