Cut the cables
+++++++++++++++++++
The energy you spend defending your limitations keeps those
limitations solidly in place. But what if you put that
energy into something else?
The effort you spend convincing others of your excuses,
makes those excuses more real and more burdensome to you.
Imagine, instead, simply letting them go.
Yes, of course, life is entirely unfair. Yes, of course, the
circumstances and events of your life have you thoroughly
tied down like sturdy, unyielding steel cables.
There is a way to cut those cables. For it is you who has
put most of them in place.
Focus your mind, your energy, your spirit, your feelings and
emotions on the most joyful and fulfilling scenario you can
imagine. Suddenly and profoundly, your reality begins to
change.
Put the energy of your spirit into giving color and texture
and substance and palpable sensation to your most treasured
dreams. That will surely make you free.

Hi Jan,
How inspiring! I needed that today!
It's been a bit frustrating really, I've had troubles at my home computer with a lot of my favorite websites including ivillage...I told my DH it seems to be anywhere I have a login. Anyway he says it is the sites being overloaded and slow, but I haven't had so much trouble with all my sites at the same time before.
Anywhoo, I missed you guys. I tried to get on last Weds night before my trip Thursday & Friday and had troubles. Haven't been able to get on and post since! I'm at school now in the computer lab...which tends to confirm the problem is on our computer at home. Grr!
Aside from the computer issues, I had a great trip to the conference...even got a Regional Award for Outstanding Leadership...I was totally surprised! I had some tears (happy ones) while accepting it. Ya know it is the first award I've ever gotten from a group I've been involved in, I think I sort-of believed that only the "popular kids" got them.(how high school is that?LOL) Our school chapter has also been not-so-active in the past and this semester a whole new group of enthusiastic individuals joined, so I had fun getting to know some new folks and there are a lot of great ideas being generated for more projects and events.
It was a crunch Monday & Tuesday catching up on all the missed school work from last week, but I'm finally all caught up and breathing a big sigh of relief!
I also had my first therapy session on Monday. Basically just covering my family history & background info, the problems that had me seeking therapy. I started crying when giving some of the hard family history and talking about DH's medical which really surprised me! I thought I had a good handle on all this and didn't think just talking about it would affect me so much! But I did feel better afterwards and am very hopeful that therapy will help with my anxiety.
Ok, I'm going to read some of the other posts before I have to go off to class.
Smiles,
Dee
Congrats, Dee on the award & making it through that first *T* appointment.
I am no pc expert, but my logins are problematic after my anti-virus updates. But, there's a great iVillage board that can be very helpful. Here's the link: http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-cotrouble
I'm glad you needed the daily I posted. I have learned to cut some cables, because my panic imprisoned me. It's hard, but doable. I like the freedom it brings! (((hugs))) jan
