Hi, Just wondering anyone on zoloft ever feel loopy?? Kind of like you can't think straight or the words that you want to say don't come out right?? I suffer from CFS Anxiety and depression and I took prozac for years. The prozac really helped with my depression and fatigue but did nothing for my anxiety and I felt very nervous on it so my DR thought I should switch to Zoloft 50 mg per day. I do feel less anxious/nervous with the zoloft but sometimes I feel really forgetful and like my speech is slurring. Last night when talking with hubby he asked if I had been drinking lol which I hadn't been but I can even feel myself slurring my speech, and it gets worse when I am tired. Anyone else feel this way??

I have never taken zoloft, but know people who do. Although forgetfulness can be a sign of stress & anxiety, slurred speech is not. I think you should report this to the dr. ASAP. I don't want to frighten you, just make certain that you are safe. This might not have anything to do with the zoloft. Please take care & keep in touch. (((hugs))) jan

Jan, Maybe slurred speech is not the words I should have used. More like pausing between sentences to think of what I am saying. Does that make sense?? I know slurred speech could mean the sign of a stroke or something alot more serious, but this is more like I have trouble getting the words out that I want to convey. This did not happen to me when I was on Prozac so I would think it has to be the Zoloft since I just recently switched don't you think??? Also my sister who is a pediatric nurse practitioner couldn't believe that my dr just had me quit the prozac cold turkey and start the Zoloft. She said anytime you have been on meds for a number of years you need to wean off of them and start the new meds slowly. My doc had me stop prozac one day then take zoloft the next. Anyway I will mention all this at next appt but just wondering if anyone else taking this med has ever felt this way.

Jan and Sheriann, Thank you so much for your responses. I feel so much better reading others responses and especially when they are feeling the same way I do. The one post by Heather said it all I will be talking to someone and right in the middle of what I am saying I forget what I was going to say. The person I am talking to usually just laughs it off and we change the subject but it is extremely scary. My mind has always been as sharp as a tack and this is very hard for me. I do have an appointment on Monday with my dr and I am definitely going to bring this up. If I have to switch meds again I will(even though the first few weeks will probably kill me lol) but I just can't deal with forgetfulness, especially with customers on the phone someone will call and explain their problem and I will notice I am asking them to repeat themselves, almost like my mind just shuts down in the middle of a conversation. I also have the forgetting word thing going on. So I normally will just say you know that thing a ma jig, and usually when I am at home my daughter or husband know exactly what I am talking about lol. Anyway I will talk to my doc on Monday and make sure I post back after my appt. This has to do with the meds or anxiety cuz it seems like so many people are experiencing it. Thanks again for the responses!!! DHW
