Vent! Why? Things were going so well...

Last week was insanely busy, but went quite well. I caught up on everything at school and went on a road trip Friday to attend a college visit day that was quite enjoyable.
Aside from a minor meltdown last Sunday night, where DH and I exchanged some tense words and made up, I had basically held it together all week.
So here's the weekend and DD woke up crying at 4:30am, could not go back to sleep, so she snuggled next to me on the couch and watched her cartoon movie (my Scooby Doo addict). This is not normal for her at all and she is sick with a bad cough and sore throat, so I think that was the problem. Anyway, I ended up really sleep deprived today as well.
After I got up, that anxious, under my skin, irritability started up. All the undone housework bugged the heck out of me. Little stuff seemed to all go wrong. DD was also extra cranky and clingy all day. DH helped a lot, but was also wearing down by afternoon and was annoyed because he wanted to leave and spend the afternoon gaming with friends and I was like, no I don't want to be stuck with a sick kid and a messy house by myself the rest of the day, especially since I feel pretty awful myself.
Oh, and my car went into the shop this morning and costing $450+ to fix.
So anyway around 4:30pm I started to feel kind of hungry and sometimes my blood sugar will bottom out in a hurry. So we were out dropping off the car and went through McDonald's drive through, I ordered two apple pies and as we were driving away, I opened them up and they are burned to an unappetizing crisp. I tried a corner and it was really burned and dried out, so who knows how many hours that took in the pie heater or whatever. So we go back and returned them. Long story short-I ended up without pies. We went home and decided to go back out to eat. (not a good decision in retrospect) DH and DD both seemed to have issues getting ready to leave the house again. We arrived at the restaurant and DD was asleep in her carseat! We both knew better than to wake her (sick and missed her nap, just like Mommy). So then there was a butting of heads over where to eat and we both started snapping, I sort-of had one of my anxious snits and we ended up back at home and not very happy.
Actually DH and I made up, but I felt like crud about the day.
So I'm here at the computer venting, just now and DH walks in with a spiced Chai tea as a treat from Coffeesmith's. Sometimes I don't think I deserve this guy! I did get something to eat and I think my "balance" is finally returning.
I'm just like Geez...I made it through the week, why can't I get a break and be able to relax on the Weekend. I'm hoping tomorrow is a better day.
Have a goodnight all!

"I'm hoping tomorrow is a better day." For your sake, Dee, I sure hope it is. These annoying issues crop up in life & wouldn't we all like to breeze through them? Unfortunately, with anxiety & that lack of sleep, we get stressed much too quickly. Try to let it go. Don't replay the day over & over in your head like I do. Grr...
I must say how lucky you are. A cup of chai? Send that man this direction ASAP. LOL Good luck & you have a good night, too. (((hugs))) jan
Thanks Jan,
Today is starting off better already...we didn't get the two inches of snow predicted last night! And DD is well rested too; she feeling better & back to her usually happy self. LOL
Smiles,
Dee
Dee, I'm glad there was a happy ending to your post :)

Thanks Sheri Ann,
Today has been better, although I think the whole family has been a bit down over the cold and overcast weather. Just feeling the blahs today...however I got out of the house to run a few errands & my car is fixed. DH finally took DD to the playground, all bundled up despite the weather to wear some energy out of her!
I got about five sections of Intermediate Algebra homework caught up during the meantime and started on my Abnormal Psychology assignment. Mood disorders this chapter. LOL
Hope your DS feels better soon.
Smiles,
Dee
Hi Jan,
Today has been better, despite the cold and gloomy weather here. I swung by after getting my car back to pick up another cup of that Chai tea this morning. It is awesome and perfect for this weather.
The whole family managed to relax a bit more today and DH took DD out for awhile this afternoon. Now he's cooking his famous macaroni and cheese for dinner. DD is playing dress-up and looking super cute in a slightly outgrown dress (she wore it for Halloween her first year). It is white with a tutu and gold-silver stars. She has her jammies on underneath! We almost had her in bed early, but she woke up (not surprising since she had not had dinner yet).
Hope you are having a good weekend.
Smiles,
Dee
Guess I'll keep drinking my chai from a teabag, Dee;) Your dd sounds like a doll.
I had an ok weekend. Thx for asking. Getting ready to start the old grind again. Argh): Let's hope for a good week for all of us! (((hugs))) jan

Hi Sheri Ann,
That sounded cosy sitting at the kitchen table...until I got to your chilly toes! I hope you got warmed up! Didn't get the predicated snow, but it's darn cold around here. I stuck my porch mums and pumpkins into a "greenhouse" shelf with a plastic cover. They seem to be surviving.
Bummer about the garden, my Mom used to make some awesome green tomato relish with the final tomato harvest each year. Wish I still had that recipe, yummy.
Smiles,
Dee
Are you serious??
