Hi Sheri Ann,
Sounds like you coped well on both outings! I'm glad you enjoyed the booth to help rescue kitties.
We have two middle-aged cats and a young Momma stray that we rescued a month ago. Of course she was hugely pregnant when we found her abandoned outside & still had two half-grown kittens from her last litter with her. I found homes for the two older kitterns and she promptly had 6 more in our bathroom cabinet! Now 4 weeks old, they are utterly adorable and just left the cabinet a few days ago to explore. My DD loves them and I have to limit the time she handles them, because she gets so excited. Our two "old" kitties are feeling overwelmed now by the new arrivals and hissing at the Momma and watching the kittens as though they were an invading force. I've ended up holding them on my lap a lot to reassure them that they are still the top cats.
I'll need to find homes for the kittens and get the mother fixed as soon as possible, we just tipped the scales of how many pets we can handle around here. LOL
We have 3 calicos and 3 black/white male kittens. They are just too darn cute right now...I'm so tempted to keep my favorite calico.
DD's daycare class went to see firetrucks last week and she talked about for the last few days. Waiting for the class and starting to doubt they were coming is just the sort of thing that would happen to me & drive me nuts! I probably would have been driving to another station, just to make sure, and missed 'em.
Aren't DH's great!? I depend on my guy too.
Smiles,
Dee
Hooray Sheri Ann!
I am so proud of you for getting through 2 tough days and sharing your story! It is very inspirational; I hope you keep making progress and share all the ups and downs with us so we can be here for you.

We all have our limitations, Sheri Ann. We have our safety zone, too. For now, dh probably is yours. But, that isn't a bad thing. It just means that you need to take your small steps away from him, if that's what you want.
As for what you accomplished, give yourself credit where credit is due. You did a great job on Saturday. Don't allow the setback on Friday to overshadow it. You made good use of your coping skills. This is another positive experience under your belt. Draw from it when you plan another outing. Write it all down to refer to later. *I did it! I didn't panic! I was able to stay all day. I had a good time talking to others. When I needed a break, I took one, then went back to my volunteering.* Keep on being proud of yourself. You have every right to be! Wishing you many more good days! (((hugs))) jan
(((SheriAnn))) You did such a great job! I know that Friday probably felt like a failure, but did it! You may not have stayed for the whole field trip, but the fact that you went at all is inspirational! Weren't you the one who was practicing walking to the corner just a few weeks ago? And now here you are, planning outings and actually going!! It's okay if you had to leave early. You're allowed to take things at your own pace. And double hoorah! for staying all day on Saturday! That's quite an accomplishment!
I hope you continue to find the courage to face the fear! You are doing such a great job!
Thank-you Jess!
Sheri Ann
Thank-you!
