Back from the p-doc's with a new plan

He wanted to see how I was doing on the increased dose of Wellbutrin-XL (fine) and starting Trazodone (doesn't help at all with my insomnia).

We discussed everything and decided that I should stop taking the Trazodone since it's mostly prescribed for sleep and it isn't working at all. I'm to keep taking 450 mg. of Wellbutrin-XL and wait to see if the increased dose starts to help me. In the meantime, he gave me some samples of Rozerem for my insomnia. He wants to see me again in 3 weeks to see if we need to add another medication on top of the Wellbutrin-XL. If that's the case, then he wants me to drop back down to 300 mg. so I don't overload on serotonin. Makes sense.

The catch is that he's steering me toward trying an SSRI. I hate SSRIs. Hate them, hate them, hate them. But I agreed to at least research the ones I haven't taken. He told me I could pick which one I wanted to take, even. Haha.

This sounds like a good plan, Laura. Keep an open mind. I just spoke with my dd's social worker this morning & she said the first 5 to 7 days are difficult for ppl on new meds. She was talking about all meds, including mood stabilizers, psychotropics, AD's. If people will just tough it out, the side effects really DO get better. Good luck & let us know how things go. (((hugs))) jan
