ok so most of you know I am scared to death to take my meds, I have been carrying them around with me and it is getting me to feel safer about them.

questions about xanax. I am scared to take it Im not sure what it will do to me, and thats the part that scares me, the waiting for it to kick in. I was given .25m most people I know said they were give .50m. I want to take half of a .25m so .12m is what i would take what kind of effect will this have one me? I need someone to make me feel better about this. Does it slow your heart down? Should I worry about dying? please if you tell me to read the side effect sheet I will get freaked out and wont take it. I want expereinces only, good or bad, mostly good I hope.

thank you

nicole

Hi Nicole.... I, too, was terrified to try medication until not all that long ago. Along with having general anxiety, and "health" anxiety, I found out I have SVT, which is a rapid heart rate, that to me, feels like a fluttering. I was pretty well freaked out when I found out about the SVT... thought all the worst thoughts. My Dr. reassured me that it really isn't serious and said it would be perfectly fine to take Xanax to help calm down. I'm so glad I did... it is so much easier than trying to tough it out. I take 1/2 of a .25 mg and it does the job just perfectly for me. I don't take it on a schedule... just when I need it. I also keep some that are already cut in half in my purse ready to go, just in case. From a heart stand point, my Dr. says it is perfectly safe... ( I actually checked with 2 Dr.'s AND the pharmacist, just to be sure!) Try it sometime when you are with other people, when you take it the first time. That may give you a little more peace of mind, too. Take care! : )
