Questions: Lexapro & Wellbrutin

I was wondering if anyone is taking Lexapro & Wellbrutin XL? I've been on Wellbrutin now for 4-5 months and about 4 weeks ago my psych. dr. started me on Lexapro as well. I'm also taking something to help me sleep. Well, I was feel pretty good after the 2 week on both but now feel think I'm slipping again. I'm just so depressed and grumpy all the time. I'm going to call next week and make an appt with the dr. because I know I shouldn't be feeling this way. The panic attacks have gotten better though. I've been on so many different meds, I'm just so tired of going to the dr all the time. If anyone can help or give a little advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Hi, I am taking Celexa and Wellbutrin and have had great success. I was also taking Klonopin to help me sleep but found that I really didn't need it on a regular basis. When I take all three I feel a little sluggish and down. Maybe a little over medicated. This is something you could discuss with your dr. Hope everything works out ~ don't give up!

Thank you for your reply. I also take the Clopen (sp?) to sleep. Maybe you are right about being over medicated. I'll check it out next week for sure. Thanks again! Dawn

Hi, Dawn! I just wanted to say how glad we are to have you on board. We'll be happy to support you in any way. Please feel free to share your story so we can get to know you better.

Drug combinations or cocktails have been used more frequently. I haven't taken these meds, so am not sure what to expect. I am glad to know that the panic is better for you. If you're not happy with how you feel & can't figure out why, maybe a call to the dr. is in order. For alot of us on the board, hormones can cause trouble with emotions. So can added stress or lack of proper sleep/exercise.

Please keep in touch & let us know what you & the dr. decide. Join us in chats on Tues. & Thurs. evenings if you can. I hope you feel better soon. Good luck & GBU! (((hugs))) jan

Hi,

My DH went through four different antidepressants the first two months before finding one that worked for him without side effects. I think Lexapro and Wellbutrin were two that he tried but did not stick with, but everyone is different in what works for them. I see a lot of posts of people taking those that have really been helped. I know he didn't really feel a lot of improvement until he'd been on his meds for over 4 weeks.

Hugs,
Dee
