I hate my mind & I have to give DH props

For whatever reason my mind just feels like giving me issues today. A year ago, I had severe pain that wrapped around from my upper abdomen to my back. So bad I couldn't move. At first my dr. had said that it was muscle spasms. A few days later they didn't subside so she sent me in for a US. Everything checked out great on the US except, I had a few fatty deposits in my liver and my spleen was enlarged!! Not worried about the liver, the fatty deposits very well could've been bc of the very recent pregnancy and my diet, no big. But the spleen, HELLO!! So my dr. ran blood tests on me and she said everything looked great, only thing that was alittle out of range were my triglycerides, no big, just watch my diet. But she never addressed my swollen spleen. After the US, the technician told me to wait while she showed the findings to the resident doctor, then she said i could go shortly after. No one seemed worried about it, so I put it off. And I figured it could've just been bc something happened during pregnancy or delivery, since this wasn't even 6wks since I had my youngest. But since this time I've learned that a swollen spleen can be all sorts of diseases, including cancer and I'm sorry BUT I'M SCARED. So a lot of the time I don't even think about my spleen, but, today when I was trying to relax my mind began to think," your spleen.....etc" And now I'm sitting here scared.

And about my husband, I have to give the boy props. He may be country as heck, but man the boy can cook!!!

There are plenty of reasons why a spleen can be enlarged & lots of them aren't dangerous. This was last year, right? That ought to tell you Ashley that you are not seriously ill. If you had cancer, you would surely know it by now. My gramma used to call this *borrowing trouble.* She told me not to do it. I have a difficult time letting things go because I am the best trouble borrower there is:) Try to refocus on more positive thoughts.

It's funny that the thought popped into your mind today. Something must have triggered it. Remind yourself that this is part of anxiety

Yeah I was talking to DH and he said, the ran blood if something was wrong with your spleen or anything like that then it would've thrown some numbers out of whack. Disease is not my forte I'll flip out forever. lol. I'm alittle better about it now.

DH is trying to cook all the meats before we pack the house up, so he cooked some kinda pork roast with BBQ sauce...dang that was good..from now on, he cooks. :)

Isn't is great when your guy cooks? Mine was an angel today too when my temper and sanity felt like they were fraying.

The only thing I thought of about the enlarged spleen was last year, a good friend got mono and a few weeks later, I felt totally cruddy and exhausted to the point of not functioning for a over two weeks myself. I started thinking...hey we'd been drinking cans of soda right before she got was diagnosed and maybe I sipped out of hers by accident or something and had mono too. I never went to the doctor, just looked it up on the internet and an enlarged spleen with sharp pains can be associated with mono. (Of course I was like "ah ha" because I'd had a few side cramps also, but not to the extent you described at all)But in general I don't know much about spleens, so that's all I can share.

I'm glad you haven't had those pains again...I think that's a pretty good sign that it was not really serious or a long term problem.

Hugs,
Dee
