I haven't been here in forever but this board helped me so much when I first started havign panic attacks that I thought I'd come back. My name is Debbie and I started having panic attacks in Jan 2003. I have health related ones(my biggies are I think I'm having a heart attack or my throat is closing up. FUN!)

My attacks have ramped back up recently due to an allergic reaction, moving across the country(I move from Los Angeles to Philly at the end of this month! AHHH!), and trying to start planning a wedding. I didn't think I could ever be this stressed! I went off Celexa at the beginning of this year but went back on it after the allergic reaction on Oct 2nd(because, hi, my throat could have closed up). I was having 3 or 4 a day after the reaction(which is so awesome, as many of you know)!

Anyway, that's my story and I can't wait to start to get to know you guys.

WB, Debbie. It's nice that you thought to return to us in this difficult time. Seems that health issues & major life changes, such as a move can be a real trigger for us. Take it slow. Be kind to yourself.

You are in a good posistion. You have learned coping skills that brought you back into balance in the past. You know from experience that you can get back to that place. What have you considered using? Therapy? Alternatives? As times passes from the allergic reaction, you will fear the throat closing less & less. I developed a severe allergy to bactrim & was unable to breathe & woke up in the ER a couple years ago. Discombobulating! Even though I have great fear of meds, I have moved on. You can too!

Post anytime. Join us in chat tomorrow night from 9 to 11pm EST. Take a look @ our *coping tips & tricks* folder below. There's lots of things you can teach yourself to aid relaxation. Good luck & GBU! (((hugs))) jan

Hi Debbie,

I just found the board a few weeks ago...wow it feels longer...in a good way. So Welcome back! I was recently diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety disorder, although I know it's been a problem for over a year, just getting a lot worse.

I'm married with a bouncing, "I'm a big girl Mommy!" daughter, nearly 3 yrs old. DH and I are both back in school & I'll graduate with my AA this spring then planning to transfer for my BA.

Hope to talk again soon.

Smiles,
Dee
