My meds have finally kicked in. I have been feeling pretty good in the afternoon for the last couple of days, and today I even felt good in the AM - not jittery and shaky like the past week.
I was even able to sleep for SIX hours last night. That's the most I've slept in over a week. I took a Xanax - the Ambien didn't really work so my psychiatrist said just take the Xanax for now. I am confident that I won't need it once the meds totally kick in.
I felt like a new woman this morning. Every day I wake up terrified to look at the clock because if it says 2 or 3 am that means I won't be able to get back to sleep. I was actually woken 2 or 3 times during the night (by one of my kids, and then by drunks fighting in the street - city life) but I was able to go back to sleep.
I can't believe it. I had some serious anxiety last night when I had a friend over for dinner (prom date from high school days, there's anxiety for you LOL) but I worked through it. Before he came over I told him what was going on - turns out he has suffered from anxiety for years but he works through it without meds. He gave me a meditation CD to try out.
That was really rough starting those meds. I'm so glad you guys were able to talk me through some of it. I still have a ways to go, but I think I'm on the right road. Thanks to all of you for your support!

Great news! I'm glad they kicking in and working for you. Sounds like a good visit over dinner too.
Smiles,
Dee

Just a friend. I only date my husband. LOL
Funny thing is when he asked me to prom I was dating one of his best friends. And I dated his younger brother too. We have quite a history.
Thanks! You guys have all been a godsend. I have a friend at work who suffers from this, and it really helps to talk to someone who knows what it feels like.
How are you doing??? I guess you're home from the hospital? Do they have you on bedrest?
OOps!
