I am suffering from genital phobia and I behave like crazy. I am male and when I meet men I look at their private parts like penis instead of looking at face. Doc told me I got phobia and I tried anti-depressants for a while. Though I am feeling much better now but still not gotten over it. I have this for past one year my I am finding it tough to go to work. I was depressed a year back and this phobia happened to me.My collegues think I am gay and all sorts of things.Did anyone had this problem? How to get over this phobia? Help is appreciated

I am very sorry to hear about this distressing condition. Fears/phobias are never easy to live with. From my experience & through much reading, it seems that specific fears/phobias can be dealt with through specialized therapy. Usually therapists who are trained in desensitization. My best advice to you is to ask your dr. to help you find a skilled therapist who specializes in this area.

You are NOT alone. There is hope & help in overcoming any obstacle. Sending P&PT's your way. Good luck & GBU! jan
