Hi everyone. I'm new to the board and just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. I have gone through hell and back with anxiety and depression, my most current bout just ending a few weeks ago. I just had my 4th child and went through such bad depression and anxiety while on meds that I thought I was never coming back.
And here I am. I'm back. So if anyone needs living proof of someone coming back from the depths of hell, I'm here!
I do have some anxiety from day to day as my kids are so little - my youngest two are only 18 months apart and I'm finding it so difficult some days. I do my best, I know that's all I can do, but I wish I could have more patience with my family. I wish I could just let all the anxieties go.....free them all.
Anyway, just thought I'd say hello. Any other mothers of little ones out here?

Thanks for such a warm welcome girls. I have been struggling with anxiety and depression off and on for 10 years now. It's been quite a journey and I have to say it is the most difficult thing to deal with. So I'm always here to lend an ear and help someone through crisis. Thanks for letting me know about the folder on tips to de-stress. I'm sure I'll find something useful or maybe even get to add a thing or two myself these days!
What is the link to the chat? I will do my best to get on tonight...hopefully the kids will cooperate and go to bed early! LOL.

Hi Stace,
Welcome!
My DD is turning three years old next month. I have generalized anxiety disorder and feel overwhelmed, edgy & really irritable sometimes. DD is so energetic, usually bouncy, bouncy, joy, joy. I try really hard not to lose patience with her or let her see when I'm feeling bad...but she is a smart perceptive kid. I know she is being affected in some degree. :(
But she also picks me up a lot of the time with her fresh outlook on life...I'll hang and play with her and think, I wish I still felt that effortless happiness & wonder that little kids have, ya know?
Hope we can talk more.
Smiles,
Dee
have to say I LOVED EVERY MINUTE!! She is a JOY
and lets me forget I AM AN OLD BAT WITH PANIC hahaha!! Judy

Thanks girls for all the messages....it truly helps so much to have support and you are all so lucky to have each other. I'm glad I found this group.
Postpartum anxiety is so bad isn't it? I suffered for 3 years after my first son was born because I didn't want to take meds.....I thought it meant I was weak. Silly huh? And I was so scared that the meds would change me. They did, for the better!
I swear by Zoloft! Love the stuff.
And I love your son's name! My 5 year old DD is Samantha Carsyn ......isn't that too funny. I wanted her first name to be Carsyn, but I got vetoed.......
