Well I was all ready to head over to school earlier this morning and my car would not start! I was supposed to be meeting DH at a Philosophy Club meeting at 11am. He was bringing some handouts for me to use for the discussion.
I emailed the Philosophy club advisors to explain and asked 'em to tell DH the problem. Also notified my teacher about missing class.
So, my message did get through and they are using the handouts for the meeting. DH came home and got the car started. (said we need to replace the plugs).
So I have the rest of the day off! LOL
I did take care of a bunch of emails this morning & did dishes. Lots more housework to do. My Mom is flying in from out of state tomorrow afternoon to visit; so I do want the place to look nice. But it's kind of cool to have some extra time. :)

Hi Sheri Ann,
My Mom arrived Friday night and is leaving on Tuesday. A great visit so far, but busy and not without stress. (good stress ;))
I had some interesting adventures on Friday that I'll tell you more about later...turned out well, but I was super anxious.
My DD's Birthday party was Saturday. My Mom and I did last minute shopping and set-up (fun but I was so worried about getting it all done). I invited my DD's two "best friends" and one family (the ones I knew well) canceled at the last minute, because of an illness. Leaving the other family whom I did not know at all...only that the daughter was very close to DD at daycare. This was our first mutual attempt to get the girls together. I was a nervous wreck. Then we had a another friend of mine coming with her 14 year old DD, who is my DD's favorite sitter (they were 1/2 hour late).
Anyway it all worked out wonderfully. The other little girls parents came to the party with their infant DS (who was a perfect doll the whole time). My Mom is a lot chattier than I, so she immediately started yakking and got everyone more relaxed. We had a light lunch and then ice cream cake. I had craft stuff and matching inexpensive baby dolls and a coloring poster for both girls and they had an absolute ball, screaming in delight, running around with the dolls and settling down only when bribed with cake and opening presents. LOL
I was able to reserve the "clubhouse" room at our rental community here and we were the only people in that building, so did not have to worry about curbing the kids too much. I think it was a big relief to all the parents that our kids were all rambuncious but not terrible, so everyone could relax and just let them have a good time.
Today we ran some errands. DH brought home a Christmas and after digging through every closet & the storage shed...I found our ornaments. DD was so thrilled to "help" Grandma decorate the tree. I helped too. LOL
Everyone tired and I feel really achy. (knee & back) It's been a wonderful couple days though. I've had some anxiety, but was able to manage it.
Thanks for asking! I haven't had time to check the board so much, but later this week will catch up!
Smiles,
Dee
It sounds so perfect!
