Anxiety update

After my anxiety crash(calling into work) the other day, and my increased anxiety and depression lately, my therapist recommended I talk to my dr about my meds.

My anxiety has been up, but most of all the depression has been bad, it's been the scariest I can remember in a long time. My moods yo-yo all the time, and I find myself very irritable and I cry very easily.

My therapist even mentioned teh possibly that i could be bipolar. Which surprised me since I don't have any time of manic episodes.

Anyway, I went to see my dr today and filled him in on some of how I've been feeling and what's been happening in my life. He thinks that the zoloft is still the perfect med for me, he feels that it is a really good med for BOTH anxiety and depression. (Whereas some are stronger for one than the other) He feels that I need to increase my dosage.

(((Heather))) Sounds as if you're keeping on top of things. Let us know if the zoloft increase kicks in. As for the lorazepam, I only took it once & was pretty much knocked out. I would follow the doctor's advice to a *t.* Don't do any driving until you know how it will effect you. Are you ever anxious when you first get home from work? That might be a time to try it or maybe on the weekend when you don't have plans. Just a dose to *see* what happens. I know that sounds wierd, but how will you ever know?

How are things going with the problem student? I have been thinking about you & should have shouted you out, but kinda busy because of the holidays. Take care. jan

I do believe that Lorazepam is the generic name for Ativan. Most of my Anxiety is social, home is usually my safest place, unless it's the obsessive thoughts that kick in keeping me awake.

Most of my anxiety happens at work, or in social situations, for example, we haven't been to church in months because it is such a tense situation for me.

Things at work are going better. My student (hardly a problem student most of the time) has been fighting a sinus infection for a long time and not feeling well (i've had one too... wonder where I got it??LOL) but she did much better this last week.
